The Statement of purpose of First Initiative Foundation that the activities under its auspices will support and promote education and creativity in arts, design and other areas deemed beneficial to Hong Kong resonates with the Mission of The Open University of Hong Kong. OUHK, a self-financing institution established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989, is keen to add value to the honorable goals of the Foundation. Among our 222 study programmes are 4 that result in Bachelor degrees in the creative arts, and 15 that result in Bachelor or Master degrees in education. We hope that collaboration between our two organizations will indeed bring benefit to Hong Kong.
It gives me great pleasure to contribute this message in support of the First Initiative Foundation. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has a long-standing commitment to providing quality education and promoting the all-round development of our students. We are delighted to learn that the Foundation shares our goal of nurturing young artistic talents and promoting creativity in Hong Kong through a variety of charity projects. I sincerely wish the Foundation every success in the years ahead and look forward to seeing the scholarship recipients make their contributions to the well-being of our society.
